The digital zoom international study course between the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Muenster and the Faculty of Islamic Theology of Ferdowsi University, Mashhad, Iran, takes place from 11 October to 16 December 2021, Monday evening and Thursday morning. The course brings together Iranian, Asian, and German
Masterstudents with early-career researchers and scholars from different
disciplines studying Christianity in Asia.
The course engages in these five
areas:
- Mapping of Asian Christianity
- Cross-Cultural Flows and Pan-Asian Movements
- Asian Christianity and the Social-Cultural Process
- Interaction with Asian Religious Traditions
- Asian Migrant Churches in
the Middle East and Europe
Readings of select essays from the recent Oxford Handbook on Christianity in Asia (2014) complement the zoom course. Upon successful completion, students receive a special certificate, signed by both departments from the universities of Muenster and Mashhad.
