Participants get a deeper understanding of the linear regression model. This is ensured by a more formal treatment of the model as it is done in earlier bachelor courses, which enables the students to use different estimation methods. It also allows to understand the basic assumptions of the model (A- B- and C-assumptions) and how to handle situations, where these assumptions are not fulfilled.
Participants should have done the basic courses in statistics and mathematics and students of “Economics” are recommended to do the module “Empirical Economics” before. It is also helpful, but not absolutely necessary to do the course “Advanced Statistics”, which takes place in the first term of the same semester.
