The aim of this course is to give the participants insights into the
cultural background of the U.S.A. and to promote an awareness of what is
unique about their own culture, in order to make true intercultural
communication possible. The topics for the individual class meetings
will be decided upon by the participants in the first session. Possible
topics are: regions (and regional differences in language), educational
structures, the political system, the media, American humour and
attitudes.

Der Anteil des Präsenzstudiums beträgt insgesamt 28 Ustd. Außerdem ist
eine Vor- und Nachbereitung der Kursstunden erforderlich. Der Stoff der
Sitzungen, die durch den verspäteten Kursbeginn ausfallen, wird in
Absprache mit den Kursteilnehmern nachgeholt (Nachholtermin &
Zusatzaufgaben); der Kurs endet regulär in der letzten Semesterwoche.
