Münster Student Orchestra
For almost five decades, the Münster Student Orchestra (SOM) has played a major role in the cultural life of the university and the city of Münster - from large symphonic works and solo concerts to contemporary compositions and works from dance, theatre and film. Around 90 musicians, mostly students from the university, but also from the University of Music as well as professionals, develop a challenging programme every semester, which is performed at two end-of-semester concerts.
In addition to making music together, the SOM offers a lively community that forms during rehearsal weekends, trips and other projects, providing a welcome change from studying.
