Geomuseum

In the Geomuseum, visitors can experience 13.8 billion years of history from the Big Bang to Westphalia. The exhibition provides a glimpse into the universe, explains why Münster was once located on the equator, what meteorites have to do with the formation of the Earth and what happened to the fish from the Cretaceous Sea. Unique exhibits from Westphalia, originals of great scientific value, are presented in 14 themed areas. One of the highlights of the exhibition is the 43,000-year-old mammoth, found in Ahlen in 1910 and the museum's emblem.
