Big Band I

Big Band I is open to students from all departments. Each semester a new, stylistically varied concert program is developed for performance at the end of the semester. The repertoire ranges from original arrangements of classic big band jazz (Bill Holman, Oliver Nelson, Benny Carter) to contemporary arrangements (Bob Mintzer, Bob Curnow, Gordon Goodwin). Pieces written by band members are also played. New members are accepted as seats become available.
Rehearsals are Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the Institute for Music Education.
