Dr. Fatemeh Masdari studied Economics and Management of Art, Culture and Entertainment at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, where she completed her Master’s Degree in 2012 (Work’s Title: „The Cinema of Abbas Kiarostami. A Look between Europe and Iran“, written in Italian). From 2016 to 2017 she took part in a one-year Ph.D. doctoral program in humanities studies, tradition and contemporaneity in the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. She completed her doctorate in Art Research in 2018 at the Al-Zahra University in Tehran (Work’s Title: „The Aesthetics of New Media“).
After completing her Master’s degree, Masdari taught courses in (Islamic) Art, New Visual Media, Philosophy and Aesthetics of Arts and History of Philosophy among others for both undergraduate level and Master’s degree at several universities in Iran.
Masdari took part in different cooperations (cooperation with Iran National Science Foundation in 2016 f.i.) and has delivered two speeches at the UNESCO Chair in Tehran (2019, 2021). Her research interests range from Philosophy of Art and Aesthetics to Philosophy of Mind, 4E Cognition Theory, Philosophy of Technology, Philosophy of New Media, Cyberspace Studies, and Analytic Philosophy of Digital Media.
In addition to her mother tongue (Persian), Masdari has very good language skills in Italian, good language skills in English and intermediate language skills in Spanish and French.
