Professor Assya Pascalev, PhD
Assya Pascalev is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Howard University, Washington, and Executive Director of the Bulgarian Center for Bioethics. She was a member of the Scientific Committee of the 10th World Congress of Bioethics, a member of the American Philosophical Association and a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Hospital Ethics.
Pascalev has expertise in biomedical ethics, moral philosophy, applied and professional ethics (including research ethics, food ethics, the ethics of biotechnology), ethical theory and the philosophy of death and dying. In the EULOD project she is responsible for the development of the strategy for the normative research, the ethical analysis of the normative arguments in favour and against unrelated living organ donation, and the ethical analysis of the empirical data.
