Habilitation Doctor,
Professor of Theoretical Physics,
Institute of Theoretical Physics,
Wroclaw, Poland |
Władysław Marcinek
1952-2003

Brilliant and sharp mind,
brave and non-standard ideas,
super-human aspiration and patience
Władysław
Marchinek's life is an example of colossal human courage, exclusive
faithfulness to science and every second overcoming. In his early
youth he realized, that his physical weakness is the consequence of
inevitably advancing incurable genetic disease. But his freedom-loving
nature could not submit with nearly absolute immobility and the space,
limited by hospital walls. The width of his mind found deep realization
in other dimensions - multidimensional spaces of theoretical physics.
Being confined to his carriage, moving only one hand with difficulty,
he found the strength to get higher education, to defend Ph.D. Thesis
(1989) and Habilitation Doctor Thesis (2002), to write about 100 scientific
works, philosophical and literary essays. He visited many scientific
conferences with reports, proposed new interesting ideas in various
branches of theoretical physics. Like Steven Hawking, his every minute
heroism and overcoming, his faithfulness into pure science and humanism
allowed Władysław Marcinek to become real scientist and known all
over the world high level specialist in quantum statistics, supersymmetry,
category theory and quantum groups.
