The Foundation for the Promotion of New Testament Textual Research was established in 1964 and was re-named after its founder Bishop D. Dr Hermann Kunst D.D. (1907-1999) in 1977 as Hermann Kunst Foundation for the Promotion of New Testament Textual Research. The foundation supports the work of the Institute for New Testament Textual Research. It is a non-governmental foundation seated at Münster.
