Welcome to ΕΠΙΧΩΡΙΟΣ: Historische Landeskunde des Antiken Griechenland. Our cross-disciplinary research cluster is dedicated to the study of the environment of the ancient Greek world from Mycenaean to Roman times. The goal is to better outline the environment and topography of Greece, with the aim of understanding the interlocking relationship between people and the natural world. ΕΠΙΧΩΡΙΟΣ explores the purposeful processes of landscape- and place-making through the lens of human agency.
