Abstract of Research Project
The aim of my work is to prepare and to characterize intramolecularly
stabilized divalent derivatives of the elements of group 14.
Proposed almost 40 years ago the equilibrium between enetetramines
((R2N)2C=C(NR2)2) and free N-heterocyclic carbenes (Wanzlick equilibrium) was
experimentally demonstrated recently. I am planning to investigate the ability
of heavy analogues of N-heterocyclic carbenes (silylene, germylene,
stannylenes) to be dimerised with the formation of M=M bonds (M=Si, Ge, Sn).
For this goal a novel silylenes, germylenes and stannylenes have to be
prepared.
An additional topic is centred both on the coordination chemistry of
transition metals complexes, which take into account new-type ligands
containing divalent M atoms and on the checking of catalytic activity of these
complexes.
