welcome!

The doctorate is a phase with many challenges, with ups and downs, but also with different phases that are often not as individual as the individual might think. It therefore makes sense to break away from isolation and to network with other doctoral candidates. This is what the Faculty of Catholic Theology's "PROMi-Tag" is all about. The morning is characterised by exchange. In a bar camp, you can introduce topics that are currently of particular interest to you in your doctorate. These aspects can then be discussed in small groups at themed tables. A workshop in the afternoon is then available for working on individual, particularly central topics: For example, how can you improve your self-organisation, strengthen your motivation and get through ‘dry spells’ better? Aspects from the bar camp can also be explored in greater depth in the afternoon.
The aim of the celebrity day is for you to learn from each other, to work on overcoming hurdles and dissolving blockages and then to continue working on your dissertation with renewed vigour. An open and trusting exchange is helpful for this.

On 06.06.2023, some seminarians from St. Victor's Seminary in Tamale, Ghana visited the Faculty of Catholic Theology as part of their exchange with the Catholic University and Student Community (KSHG). The day started with a coffee together and an exchange with members of the faculty, among them Ini Dorcas Dah, currently Humboldt Fellow at the faculty. Ini Dorcas Dah comes from Burkina Faso and has lived and worked in Ghana. She reported on her path to Münster and her research on "Gender and Holistic Mission: A Christian Response to the Lobi/Birifor Marriage for an Effective Transformational Development in West Africa (Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana)".
Afterwards, Cathedral Provost Hans-Bernd Köppen led the group through St Paul's Cathedral and up the 240 steps up the steeple of the Lamberti Church. There, the group enjoyed the view over Münster in glorious weather, while learning a little bit about Münster’s interesting religious history.
After the strenuous climb, the group continued to the Borromäum Seminary for lunch. At lunch, followed by a spontaneous coffee in the garden of the Borromäum, there was further opportunity for exchange with the residents of the Borromäum as well as with the Rector Hartmut Niehues and the Study Officer Ruth Kubina. There was lots of laughter and big smiles all around as German and Ghanaian participants compared cultural and environmental differences, but everyone agreed that Münster’s extensive green space is really something special!
Since 2006, mutual visits of student and lecturer groups with the KSHG have been carried out regularly in this proven cooperation. Student interest in the multicultural and theological exchange is high at both locations. After the Covid 19 pandemic, the exchange is now to be revived.
