Database

This foundational research project collected biographical data on approximately 3,300 people who worked for the Roman Inquisition and the Congregation of the Index over the five hundred year period between the sixteenth and twentieth centuries. Most of the results have been published in print as part of the "Basic research" project on the two congregations (cf. "Prosopographie von Römischer Inquisition und Indexkongregation" and "Personen und Profile"). The database containing all the personal data collected is currently still restricted to internal use.
