The Department Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Münster comprises seven institutes. It is lead by the Dean's Office consisting of the Dean, the Dean of Studies and the Dean of Finances. Decisions concerning the department are taken by the Faculty Council. It sets up several committees and boards.

Since 1938 eight mathematicians have been awarded honory degrees of the department so far.

Der Fachbereich stellt in jedem Semester ca. 150 Studierende als Hilfskräfte für Vorlesungen, Vorkurse, Praktika usw. ein.
