Interkulturality in Christianity and Islam. Theological Perspectives on the Entanglement on Faith and Culture

Christianity and Islam are religious traditions that are intertwined with very different cultures around the world. These traditions have entered into complex dynamics of relationships, appropriation and demarcation from culture. This means that there is a rich intercultural diversity within each religious tradition, as well as an interreligious diversity in cultures. In the seminar, we will examine, by way of example, the everyday and theological opportunities and challenges associated with these dynamics. In addition to definitions of faith and culture from the mainstream in the two religious traditions, we will examine post-colonial approaches from different contexts.

The seminar takes place in German.
