Project description: What is the project “Exegesis for Preaching” about?
“Exegesis for Preaching” (working title, German translation “Exegese für die Predigt”, in the following only called EfP), describes a project, in which New Testament exegetes, practical theologists, ministers, students and the “Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft” (German Bible Association) are working together.
The aim of the project is to create an online format on the platform of the “Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft” and to use the results of the scientific commentary for preaching.
The preachers thus receive an interpretation of a New Testament (and Old Testament) text with helpful links to other online resources (see Biblical Studies) based on current, exegetical research. They will be provided with a new productive orientation for understanding and interpreting New Testament and Old Testament texts.
On the one hand, the EfP offers basics of exegetical work on individual examples and, on the other hand, possibilities for individual study in greater depth through access to online versions of the Bible in the original language, such as Wibilex or the "Virtual Mansucript Room" of the INTF. The EfP portal is scheduled to appear in the church year 2023/2024, beginning in Advent 2023 with the first series "Perikopenreihe IV." Until then, the part of the Old Testament texts will be prepared analogously. Ultimately, the EfP offers exegetical frameworks for all texts of the Old and New Testament and for all special days of the church year.
