The entry and admission requirements for enrollment in the AKOEM master's program are:
- Completion of a relevant course of study with a standard period of study of at least 6 semesters, which has been successfully completed with a Bachelor's degree or another professional qualification (Diplom, Magister, Staatsexamen, Kirchliches Examen, etc.). Subject-relevant in the sense of sentence 1 is a study in the study programs of Ancient Oriental Studies, Ancient Near Eastern Studies, Egyptology, Coptology, Ancient Cultures, Ancient History, History (with a focus on Ancient History), Classical or (Early) Christian Archaeology, Classical Philology, Christian Theologies, Jewish Studies, Byzantine Studies, Arabic Studies/Islamic Studies or Religious Studies with an Ancient focus at a German or foreign university.
- Knowledge of German
- Knowledge of Latin to the extent of the Latinum or knowledge of Greek to the extent of the Graecum or knowledge of Hebrew to the extent of the Hebraicum or equivalent language skills in another ancient language or Classical Arabic (at least 15 ECTS).
- Knowledge of English and another modern foreign language is strongly recommended.
- Letter of motivation is desired
