Cluster of Excellence

Over two hundred scholars from more than twenty disciplines in the humanities and social sciences in around fourteen countries are engaged  in “The Cluster of Excellence Religion and Politics in Pre-Modern and Modern Cultures”, which deals with the relationship between religion and politics across epochs. Nationwide, of the forty-three Clusters of Excellence in Germany, it is the largest research consortium of this type and the only one that addresses the issue of religion.
