Das „Wir“ in der Liturgie

Gottesdienst zwischen Vergemeinschaftung und Abgrenzung

Abstract

Der Beitrag nimmt aus einer liturgiewissenschaftlichen Perspektive Konstruktionen des „Wir“ im Vollzug christlicher Gottesdienstpraxis in den Blick. Ausgehend von zentralen Diskursen um Identität und Kollektivität untersucht der Autor die Dimensionen ‚performativer Kollektivierung‘ in zwei Richtungen: als liturgisch-konfessionelle Bestimmung nach außen und als liturgische Rollendifferenzierung nach innen. In Auseinandersetzung mit aktuellen Debatten um (rituelle) Macht stehen dabei besonders die Abgrenzungsstrategien kollektivierender Praktiken in römisch-katholischen und evangelisch-lutherischen Gottesdiensten im Mittelpunkt. Starre Konstruktionen des „Wir“ werden auf ihre theologische Tragfähigkeit hin untersucht und die zugrundeliegenden Machtmechanismen kritisch hinterfragt.

From the perspective of liturgical studies the article explores constructions of the “we” in the context of Christian worship. Starting with central discussions about identity and collectivity, the author analyzes the dimensions of 'performative collectivization' in two directions: as a liturgical-denominational identification to the outside, and as a liturgical role distinction to the inside. Engaging with current debates on (ritual) power, the article focuses on the demarcation strategies of collectivizing practices in Roman Catholic and Lutheran services. Rigid constructions of the “we” are examined for their theological viability and the underlying power mechanisms are critically questioned.
