Herausforderungen an das Menschenbild aus der Kognitiven Psychologie als Referenztheorie der Pastoraltheologie

Abstract

Kognitive Psychologie ist eine psychologische (Teil-)Disziplin, die Kognitionen, also mentale Zustände und Prozesse, unter der Perspektive der Informationsverarbeitung untersucht. Damit stellt sie einen Bereich der Psychologie dar, der (pastoral-)theologisch bislang kaum wahrgenommen wird, jedoch vielfältige Anfragen an im Alltag, aber auch im wissenschaftlichen Diskurs gebräuchliche Annahmen über den Menschen stellt. Knapp vorgestellt werden ein von Wahrscheinlichkeiten und Unsicherheiten bestimmtes Bild von Wahrnehmung sowie kognitive Verzerrungen, denen wir uns üblicherweise nicht bewusst sind, die aber zu Denkfehlern und Täuschungen führen. Aufklärung über diese Befunde und ihre Konsequenzen für das menschliche Selbstverständnis sind ein gesellschaftliches, aber auch pastoraltheologisches Desiderat.

Cognitive psychology is a psychological (partial) discipline that examines cognitions, i. e. mental states and processes, from the perspective of information processing. It represents an area of psychology that has so far hardly been noticed from (pastoral) theology, but which puts a number of questions regarding assumptions about human beings that are common in everyday life, but also in scientific discourse. A picture of perception determined by probabilities and uncertainties as well as cognitive distortions, which we are usually not aware of but which lead to errors in reasoning and deception, are briefly presented. Information about these findings and their consequences for human selfunderstanding are a social, but also a pastoral-theological desideratum.
