Kirche anders: Gnadentheologische Relativierung der Kirche

Abstract

Was die Kirche mit Gnade zu tun hat bzw. die Gnade mit der Kirche, erschließt sich einsichtigerweise
insbesondere in ihrer Sakramentalität. Denn die Sakramente gelten als die vorzüglichen Orte der Erfahrung
von Gnade und auch die Kirche versteht sich als Grundsakrament in Analogie zum Ursakrament
der Inkarnation, zu Jesus Christus. Sie ist Zeichen und Werkzeug und damit Sakrament der in
Christus erschienen Liebe Gottes (LG 1). Je mehr sich die Kirchen in ihren Gestalten und Menschen für
diese Gegebenheit der Gnade öffnen, desto mehr kann sie anders, ja ganz anders werden, nicht nur in
einem bestimmten Kontrast zu gesellschaftlichen und persönlichen Verhältnissen, sondern auch zu
ihren eigenen bisherigen Vollzugsformen und pastoralen Praktiken.

The question what the church has to do with grace or grace with the church can be reasonably answered
when one looks at the sacramental nature of the church because the sacraments are considered
to be the most exquisite places of experiencing grace and because the church sees itself as the
basic sacrament in analogy to the sacrament of the incarnation in Jesus Christ. The church is the sign
and instrument and thus the sacrament of God's love manifested in Christ (LG 1). The more the
churches open themselves in their social shapes and through the believers to this reality of grace, the
more they may become different, entirely different, not only in a certain contrast to societal and personal
circumstances but also to their previous forms of pastoral practices.
