The paper aims to reconstruct the purchase, sale and current location of some gold medallions acquired by the Venetian erudite and collector Apostolo Zeno. In particular, there were four specimens that Zeno sold to cardinal Alessandro Albani, which later became part of the Vatican collection. Two of these medallions were later bought by the Duke of Blacas and then passed into the collection of the British Museum, where they are currently kept.
