The article examines the relationship of Christian social ethics to theology and spirituality within the space of the Mundane (as an alternative concept to the space of the public). For this purpose, three theses are formulated and executed. First, theological social ethics without spiritual impetus is not meaningful, just as spirituality without social (social ethical) references does not make sense. Secondly, it is shown that the place of the spiritual is to be found in the space of the public, i. e. in the sphere of social interaction with each other. Thirdly, it is proposed that instead of using the space of the public, for the sake of better classification, the description of the space as one of the mundane, this will make the characteristics of the space more precise. The place of the spiritual is the space of the mundane, i. e. the space of communication with overlapping and inseparable values and beliefs. The overall discipline of theology is a point of reference for social ethics and vice versa. This is paradigmatically outlined in the ecclesiological communio-thought, which is to be interpreted beyond a concept of people of God (ad intra) as communio in and with the world (ad extra).
