Publication process

Publication process

1. Publication request
You submit a (telephone or written) request for publication in the publication series.

2. Initial information
You will receive all information and relevant documents for publication in our publication series.

3. Publication commitment
You decide in favour of (or against) publication in our publication series.

4. Access to the press management and publishing software (OMP)
You will receive a welcome e-mail from OMP asking you to fill in your author profile (in particular the address and contact details and, if applicable, a different billing address) as well as links to the formatting instructions and metadata form for publication. Please submit these forms together with the manuscript version of your work via OMP.
For dissertations:
Please also upload a copy of your grade certificate and the imprimatur (declaration of readiness for printing) to OMP.

5. Author contract
Once you have decided in favour of publication and have sent us the contact details form and the metadata form, we will conclude the author contract (sample in German) with you.

6. Formatting of the publication
The publication must be formatted according to the formatting instructions. You are welcome to send us your file in the current version for review, and we will inform you of the expected formatting effort.
Important note: All necessary documents (the forms “author contact details” and “metadata for publication” – see above – as well as (for dissertations) the certificate of grades and the imprimatur) must be submitted by the time the formatting is completed at the latest!

7. Creation of the master files
Once formatting is complete, we will create the master files (book block and cover) and send them to you for final review.

8. Granting approval
You check the master files and approve them. If you have any correction requests, these will of course be implemented. The files will not be published without your approval!

9. Creation of the miami file(s)
To create the miami file, we check the links in the document and the hyperlinks. The online version is then prepared. At this point, we charge our service fee of 100€, which we will send to you via OMP.

10. Optional print production
After approval of the master files, we create the print files – if desired – which you can have printed as copy shop or publisher's copies.

11. Publication of the online edition
The online edition is published in miami and the electronic version is registered with the “Verzeichnis lieferbarer Bücher” (VLB).

12. Final e-mail
You will receive a final e-mail from us with information about our website, digital publication, VLB notification and notification of the publication to VG WORT.

13. For dissertations – submission and processing of dissertation copies
You send us the deposit copies of your dissertation as copy shop copies for the doctoral examination office and the thesis office. Alternatively, you can also submit the deposit copies to our colleagues yourself. In this case, please contact us to make an appointment!
The colleagues at the thesis office will issue proof of submission for publication and send this confirmation by internal mail to the doctoral examination office responsible for you or give you this certificate to pass on. You will then receive your certificate promptly from the doctoral examination office.
