In memoriam: Prof. Franz Hillenkamp

The Cells-in-Motion Cluster of Excellence mourns Prof. Franz Hillenkamp who died on August 22nd, 2014, at the age of 78. Franz Hillenkamp headed the Institute of Medical Physics and Biophysics of the University of Münster for 15 years and, when being retired, continued to be active in science. In the Cluster of Excellence he acted as a highly esteemed advisor and companion who continuously helped to shape the interdisciplinary vision and structure. We have seen him as an always enthusiastic and critical scientist and will miss him dearly.
