iGEM team wins gold

We are glad to announce that this year's iGEM team won the gold medal and the special prize for the best software tool! They were also nominated for the best modelling and best plant synthetic biology.

In their project NOsquito - The Ultimate Bug Fix they aimed at developing a promising alternative to current repellents against mosquitos. They have developed the tool "seq-mutator" that enabled to improve the catalytic activity of their key enzyme resulting in a variant with about five-fold increase in activity.
