The working groups if the Institute for Integrative Cell Biology and Physiology located at Schlossplatz 8 focus on the areas of molecular physiology (Prof. Dr. E. Liebau) and ecophysiology ( apl. Prof. Dr. B. Zeis). The research fields cover the range from the analysis of molecular and cellular functions to the physiology of whole animals in various systems, including nematodes and crustaceans. The institute also runs a marine station for research and teaching at Carolinensiel on the North Sea (Wattstation).
