Sponsors and alumni of the University of Münster

A number of special projects in research, teaching and academics are supported by friends and sponsors of the University of Münster. On the following pages, we present a selection of these projects and cordially invite you to join us in supporting the University. The University also strives to maintain close contact with former students and staff. As the University's largest network, the Alumni Club Universität Münster can help you stay in touch with other alumni and your alma mater. There are also alumni associations in faculties and institutes which strengthen the network in individual subject areas.

Support for research about Martin Luther

The University of Münster Foundation gets a new fund. The "Stiftungsfonds Luther-Studien" is intended to support research at the Faculty of Protestant Theology, which is particularly concerned with the spiritual legacy of Martin Luther and examines the concerns of the Reformation.

Citizen science projects honored

In a festive award ceremony, the University of Münster Foundation presented the Citizen Science Award to outstanding citizen science research projects in planetology and medicine. The public evening event (24.4.24), organized together with the Arbeitsstelle Forschungstransfer (AFO), was held under the motto "mitdenken – mitmachen – mitforschen" and attracted many visitors to the Studiobühne.

The University of Münster Foundation Münster

The University of Münster strives to achieve the highest quality in research and teaching. To this end, the University of Münster Foundation supports the University in its efforts to meet this goal. For example, the foundation funds the citizen science competition and awards scholarships to the best junior academics through the University’s ‘ProTalent’ scholarship programme.

Universitätsgesellschaft

Since 1918, the University Society Münster (Universitätsgesellschaft Münster) has provided interdisciplinary support to student organisations, cultural projects and model projects of excellence. The non-profit organisation supports projects for which public funding is unavailable or insufficient.

Funding associations

A large number of associations of friends and sponsors support projects at the University of Münster in the areas of research, teaching and culture. There are a number of sponsoring associations that promote projects at the faculty level in specific subjects and institutes and thus make special initiatives possible.

Alumni

The University of Münster is strongly committed to cultivating close and lasting ties with its former students and staff. To this end, the University founded the Alumni-Club Universität Münster in 2001. Since then its membership has grown to more than 26,000 registered alumni, making the Alumni Club the University’s largest network. We welcome not only past students, but also former academic and non-academic staff.
